For anyone who doesn’t know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is exactly what it sounds like: A national challenge to write a novel in a month.
The goal of the month is to write 50,000 words which winds up a daily goal of approximately 1,500 words. Last year we both participated and even though we landed a little short of the goal it inspired us both to make writing a daily habit.
With that in mind we are at it again this November!
We are so excited about the next story we plan to publish. A Damsel’s Tale is an anthology. That means it is not a classic novel but rather a collection of short stories which all weave together to create a unique reading experience.
During Nano we will try to give you regular updates and teasers as to our progress.
So to kick this off, here is a quote from the very first story.
My life was so different then I had imagined. I tried to remember the little girl I had been. Before all of this. The little girl who couldn’t decide what dress to wear. Who had foolishly allowed so many to die. What would I tell that girl if I could go back?
The dragon rumbled quietly from across the fire. It almost sounded like purring.
“I do not purr.”
